Get closer to Allah SWT
MuslimCreed – Let’s reflect on ourselves, have we performed the obligatory prayers correctly and perfectly? Have we also established the fardu prayer and never left it? Let us introspect ourselves, that the prayers we do are correct or not, have been solemn or not. It feels like in this world where the prayers are truly solemn and tumaninah is the only prayer of the prophet Muhammad. Can we imitate his prayers?
What if it turns out that before Allah swt our prayers are not considered perfect? The Messenger of Allah taught us to cover the shortcomings in our prayers. That is, we are told to perfect the shortcomings of prayer by performing the sunnah prayers as the Messenger of Allah taught us. By performing these sunnah prayers, we can get closer to Allah swt and perfect our worship.
The implementation of the sunnah prayer is a reflection of the level of piety and laughter of a servant of Allah swt. In carrying out sunnah prayers, we only expect pleasure from Him. This prayer demands sincerity and strong determination, because we have to give up time, energy, and wealth for the sake of carrying out the prayer.
So it is clear, that sunnah prayers are carried out solely because they expect closeness and pleasure from Allah swt which will be used as provisions in the future. Moreover, we live by performing prayers, not just carrying out obligations. Allah does not need our worship but we need it. We must hope that Allah swt will accept our worship so that we will find happiness and peace in this world and the hereafter.
Sunnah prayers are prayers that are recommended to do, people who perform sunnah prayers will get a reward and virtue from Allah swt. But if a person does not perform the sunnah prayer, he is not sinful. By carrying out the sunnah prayer, Rasulullah (SAW) set an example that was full of glory. He always did it like the rawatib prayer, the duha prayer, the witr, and everything.
