Dhikr is part of the worship of a servant to his god and should be done as much as possible. But often consciously or not, sometimes we like to fall asleep with our own busyness. Office work, loyal friends, as well as things that are in our hands, gadgets for example. This happens over and over again until it becomes a habit.
Whereas on the other hand, our hearts must have screamed, “I can’t go on like this or if I’m just like this, it’s nothing special.” Especially for the afterlife.
But wanting to start something that brings rewards is very hard. Either because of a long practice, because of the limitations of religious knowledge, or because we ourselves are lazy in finding out. But let’s hope the latter is not included.
Well, therefore, let’s look for a moment, there is a short dhikr whose reward is multiplied and extraordinary.
First, Istighfar
Every human being must never escape from mistakes, both big and small. Like a dirty shirt, istighfar is a medium to clean the stain. Therefore, this istighfar is very important to be read as much as possible.
In Surah Nuh verses 10-12 it is explained that we must always ask forgiveness for our sins because indeed Allah is the Most Forgiving of sins and Allah will send down blessings in the form of wealth, children, rain and fertilize the gardens.
From the explanation of this verse, of course, it can be understood that apart from being a request for forgiveness of sins to Allah SWT, the virtue of istighfar is also that Allah will send rain and increase sustenance.
In such a complicated life, whether it’s because of work, household or social matters, of course, we don’t want more disturbing things to arise. Istighfar is a suitable practice. Because in the mirror from the previous people, the people of the Prophet Yunus for example. At that time the punishment was almost about to be revealed, but because the Prophet Yunus left, and his people asked forgiveness from Allah SWT, the punishment was canceled.
Lafadzistighfar that can be used is “Astaghfirullahal’adzim”. Lafadzubu is more than enough.
Second, Shalawat
“Every prayer is closed until he prays to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihiwasallam.” (H.R ad-Dailami)
Short shalawat readings that can be used are, “Allahummasholli ‘ala Muhammad” or “Allahummasholli ‘ala sayyidina Muhammad”
In addition to prayer, there are several other virtues of reading blessings such as getting good and getting the Prophet’s intercession in the hereafter.
Third, La ilahaillallah
In a hadith narrated by Imam Bukhari and Muslim, Rasulullah SAW said:
“Indeed, Allah forbids Hell for those who say La ilahaillallah, hoping to be pleased with Allah.”
So, the sentence La Ilahaillallah really has a very big reward, because it can prevent us from going to hell. This sentence can also change the status of a servant who was previously a non-Muslim to become a Muslim.
In short, by practicing the three charities, it means that we have acknowledged that we are not free from mistakes. Practicing istighfar is a form of our love for Rasulullah SAW, as well as blessings and la ilaahaillallah.
Come on, start practicing these three dhikr every day. With the number of dhikr that can be practiced istiqamah, both 100 and others. Because good deeds are deeds that are carried out continuously or istiqamah, as mentioned in the hadith narrated by Ibn Majah:
“Indeed, the best of deeds are those that continue / istiqamah even though it is a little.”
Hopefully we can continue to be istiqamah in carrying out our deeds and may our deeds be accepted by Allah Ta’ala.
Amen YaRabbal’alamin.
Wallahua’lambishwab.
