Muslimcreed – Dear readers, I dedicate this article to you with the title “Is my fast valid?”.
This article is deliberately written in simple language, so that it is easy to understand, easy to read and easy to practice by readers who are going to fast. Because fasting is a very special worship in the sight of Allah swt. compared to other forms of worship.
This is evidenced from the history of Muslim, 1151 from Abu Hurairah radhiallahu’anhu said, the Messenger of Allah said:
كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ يُضَاعَفُ الْحَسَنَةُ
عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا إِلَى سَبْعمِائَة ضِعْفٍ ، قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ :
إِلَّا الصَّوْمَ فَإِنَّهُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ
“All the deeds of the children of Adam will be multiplied ten times to seven hundred times. Allah Azza Wa Jallah said, “Except fasting, then it is for Me and I will reward you.”
Namely: Allah will give a lot of rewards without determining the level. It is like the word of Allah Ta’ala: “Indeed, only those who are patient will be rewarded without limit.” [QS. Az-Zumar: 10]

Why is fasting privileged?
Al-Hafidz Ibn Hajar rahimahullah has mentioned ten reasons from the words of the scholars who explain the meaning of the hadith and the reasons for the privilege of fasting with this virtue.
The most compelling reasons are as follows:
1. Fasting is not subject to Riya as other (practices) are subject to Riya. Al-Qurtuby rahimahullah said:
“If other practices can be attacked by riya disease, then fasting no one knows these practices except Allah. So Allah placed fasting on Himself. Therefore it is said in the hadith, ‘Leave lust for Me.’ Ibn Al-Jauzi rahimahullah said, ‘All acts of worship are seen from their deeds. And very few survive the temptation (i.e. sometimes mixed with a little riya). Not like fasting.
2. The meaning of the expression ‘I will repay him’, is that only Allah knows the knowledge of the degrees of reward and the multiples of goodness. Al-Qurtuby rahimahullah said: ‘It means that actions have seen the level of reward for humans. It will be multiplied from ten to seven hundred times, until Allah wills, except fasting. Then Allah alone will reward you without limit.
3. The meaning of the phrase ‘Fasting for Me’, is one of the worships that I love the most and honor the most for Me.
Ibn Abdul Bar said:
It suffices that the phrase ‘Fasting for Me’ shows its superiority over other acts of worship. Narrated An-Nasa’i, 2220 from Abu Umamah rahdiallahu anhu said, Rasulullah said: he.” [Sahih Nasai]
4. Dependence here is dependence on glory and majesty. As stated ‘Baitullah (house of Allah)’ although all houses belong to Allah. Az-Zain bin Munayyir said, “Specialization in general texts like this cannot be understood except for exaltation and glorification.”
However, the privilege of fasting will not be achieved if the fast is canceled because it is not in accordance with the provisions of the science of jurisprudence that have been compiled by the salaf scholars based on the Qur’an and hadith. So I, al faqir Deni Misbah, try to explain a little how to make fasting valid according to fiqh provisions and solve problems that arise in everyday life related to fasting and can achieve its privileges.
