The position of Prophet Isa ‘Peace be upon him is very high in Islam
The position of the prophet Isa is very high in Islam. To the extent that the Koran mentions his name dozens of times.
And indeed, Jesus was truly a prophet who must be believed and respected. Of course with the other prophets.
Christians should respect the prophet Muhammad SAW. Because Muslims do not lack respect for their prophet. Even though it doesn’t have to make the Prophet a god.
However, respect for the prophet Isa in the Islamic view is different from the Christian view. Islam does not deify him, Islam only recognizes him as an ordinary human being, but he accepts revelation and sharia which applies to his people only.
As for Muslims, what is relied on in sharia law is the attitude and example of the ProphetMuhammad.
There is a connection between Jesus and Muhammad
Actually the relationship between the religion brought by the prophet Isa and that brought by the prophet Muhammad SAW comes from the same source. Except then the misguided people distort his legacy and replace it with a religion of their own making.
And because the relationship is so close, it is not surprising that the name of Prophet Isa is repeated as many as 25 times in the Koran.
Even Islam’s relationship with the prophet Musa and his people is also very close. Do you know how many times Moses’ words are repeated in the Koran?
The answer is that the word Moses was repeated 131 times
the story of the birth of the prophet jesusThe historical story of Prophet Isa is a relatively complete story told in the Qur’an. Especially regarding his death and arrival in the world at the end of the age which is full of questions.
The historical story of Prophet Isa is beautifully described in the Qur’an, namely QS Maryam/19:16 to QS Maryam/19:40. In this verse, Allah SWT explains how the situation of the birth of Prophet Isa (as), and when his mother, Maryam, steadfastly and patiently faced her people who accused and insulted the presence of her baby.
Prophet Isa was born in Bethlehem, Palestine. Quoted from the book The Birth of Prophet Isa a.s, Mohd. Zaid Sani, 2003, Prophet Isa was born from the womb of a holy woman named Maryam. One day, Maryam who was alone in a place was visited by the Angel Gabriel disguised as a man. Maryam was surprised to be visited by a man. He also said a prayer which was then enshrined in the Qur’an Surah Maryam verse 18 which means,
“Indeed, I seek refuge in God the Most Merciful towards you, if you are pious.” Maryam finally believed Jibril’s words, and sure enough, soon she became pregnant and gave birth to Prophet Isa.
What matters is not how many words are spoken
In addition, for Muslims, there is no problem if the name of the prophet Muhammad SAW is only mentioned 4 times in the Koran. Because the important thing is not the mention of the name, but we all know that the 114 surahs and 30 juz in the Quran were revealed to the prophet Muhammad SAW.
So if the entire Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW, why should his name always be mentioned?
And most importantly, the glory of a creature is not determined by the number of times its name is mentioned in the Qur’an. Do you know how many times the word Satan is mentioned in the Koran? The number is not less than 62 times.
Shall we respect shaitan? Of course not.
Do you know how many times the word Satan is repeated in the Koran? The answer is 11 times. Are we going to honor the devil just because his name is repeated 11 times in the Koran? Of course not.
On the other hand, actually every time there is a verse in the Qur’an that begins with the word Qul (say), it is a dialogue from Allah to him PBUH to say something or convey something. And if you do the calculations, the number reaches more than 300.
That’s a bit about the prophet Isa in the Koran and his birth and relationship with the prophet Muhammad. Hope it is useful …
