This is because the Thamud thought that the Prophet Saleh AS would be the spiritual leader in the group who would continue the ancestral tradition of worshiping idols so that the Thamud highly respected the Prophet Saleh AS. It should be noted that the Thamud have a tradition passed down from their ancestors to worship idols.

Due to this tradition, when the Prophet Saleh AS started to present a delivery in the form of an invitation to the Thamud to be pious and worship only Allah SWT, as you suspect that the Thamud immediately became disappointed and angry with the Prophet Saleh AS. Simultaneously, all the Thamud immediately avoided and were hostile to the Prophet Saleh AS. It is known, the Prophet Saleh AS was shunned and hostile to the Thamud because the Prophet Saleh AS asked the Thamud to immediately leave the habit or tradition of worshiping and abandoning idols.

Did you know? The Thamud besides having polytheistic habits by worshiping idols, they also have a bad habit of always being arrogant and arrogant. The Thamud always looked down on others and underestimated other people. It does not stop there, adultery and drunkenness are very smooth in these people, the Thamud are very openly showing all their immoral acts. These things have deviated greatly from the teachings that Allah SWT intended.

Well, with this, it can be concluded that the appointment of Prophet Saleh AS as a prophet in these people is not without reason. Prophet Saleh was given the task of being able to change the Thamud to lead to better and correct teachings, namely by entering into the teachings of Allah SWT. Prophet Saleh’s da’wah has been listed in the Qur’an Surah Al-A’raf, precisely in the 73rd verse.

When the Prophet Saleh had called for an order from the teachings of Tawhid to worship Allah SWT to the Thamud, the Thamud were immediately divided into two camps that clashed with each other. Of course, as Grameds suspected, the first group is a group that supports and agrees with the call of the Prophet Saleh AS to worship only Allah and follow all the teachings of Tawhid taught by Allah SWT. This first group was led by a Thamud who was also a leading figure named Junda ‘bin Amru bin Mahlab bin Lubaid bin Jawas.

Then for the second group, namely the group opposed to the call of the Prophet Saleh AS led by Dzu’ab bin Amru bin Lubaid Al-Habbab and Rabbab bin Sha’r bin Julmas. Because of their opposition to the call of Prophet Saleh AS, the two leaders of the opposing group Dzu’ab and Rabbab even tried to block Prophet Saleh AS when he was going to invite his brothers and cousins named Junda bin Shihab to follow the true teachings, namely the teachings of Allah SWT.

According to the leader of the opposing group, Nabi Saleh AS has been exposed to some kind of magic from the outside that makes Nabi Saleh AS say things that don’t make sense. Opponents outright rejected all invitations of Prophet Saleh AS to return to the true teachings, namely the teaching of monotheism to worship only Allah SWT.

Not only that, the group against the Thamud also considered Nabi Saleh AS as a fraud who said things that made no sense. They do not believe that the Prophet Saleh AS became a messenger sent by Allah SWT only because the messenger was in the form of an ordinary human who was physically the same as them, because of this the group opposed to the Thamud demanded forcibly a proof in the form of a miracle as a sign or proof of the Prophet’s apostleship. Saleh US.

Prophet Saleh’s Miracles

According to the explanations of the travelers, the miracle received by the pious Prophet AS in the form of a she-camel coming out of a rock is already very well known. This miracle was revealed by Allah SWT to the Prophet Saleh AS as a form of proof of Prophet Saleh AS’ apostleship, this was because the Thamud challenged Prophet Saleh to be able to remove a pregnant female camel with a gestational age of 10 months from a large stone that they pointed to. .

Of course, with confidence because he had given up all trust in Allah SWT, the pious Prophet AS also accepted and agreed to the challenge. The pious prophet AS immediately began to pray for a miracle to Allah SWT. By the power of Allah SWT, Prophet Saleh AS struck a large rock with the hand of Prophet Saleh and a female camel that was 10 months pregnant came out, the camel had exactly the same characteristics as said by the opponents of the Thamud. That way, people know the camel by the name “God Camel”.

Surprised those who doubt the greatness of Allah SWT. The incident of this miracle suddenly made the Thamud people, who previously did not believe and were in the opposing group, immediately became followers of the pious Prophet AS. Not as expected, of course there are still those who are adamant to be opponents of the pious Prophet AS.

Just as it has been written in the Al-Quran, Prophet Saleh AS gave a message to his people to never do the slightest good crime to God’s female camel. Prophet Saleh AS took great care of Allah’s female camel to the point that he did not allow his followers to milk and consume milk from Allah’s female camel alternately.

Then what about the groups against the Thamud? Have they made peace with Nabi Saleh AS? Oh, of course it’s not that simple, the opposing group hates the pious Prophet even more since the presence of God’s female camel. Why is that? Opponents consider the female camel of Allah as a nuisance because the female camel of Allah drinks a lot of water from the springs of the Thamud which makes their springs shrink a lot.

Death of God’s Camel

Due to the arrival of the female camel of Allah, many Thamud felt annoyed and angry because their livestock lacked water for drinking. The Thamud consider that the she-camel is only an additional burden for their people because the she-camel’s job is only to drain water from their only water source. The Thamud then immediately devised an extermination plan for the she-camel.

The Thamud’s desire to destroy the she-camel was of course with the addition of working provocateurs. It is known that there were two women who became provocateurs for the Thamud. The two provocateurs were two women named Shaduq bint Mahya bin Zuhair Al-Mukhtar and the other was ‘Unaizah bint Ghunaim bin Mijlaz.

Of the two women, one of them is the wife of one of the leaders. ‘Unaizah is the wife of Dzu’ab who we knew earlier as one of the leaders of the group opposed to Prophet Saleh AS. The husband and wife have 4 children who are female. One family made an agreement with Qudar bin Salif to make one of his children the killer of the she-camel.

Just like the family, Shaduq also offered to kill the she-camel, he said there was Mishra ‘bin Mahraj bin Mahya if he could kill the camel.

Many people were tempted by the invitation and it didn’t feel like many people had joined in the plan to kill God’s Camel. Qudar and Mishra’ invited seven other youths to take part in the plot to kill the female Camel of Allah.

The group of killers of Allah’s Camel began to carry out their monitoring actions when the she-camel drank water from the spring, then the plan was carried out. The opening of the plan was opened by shooting the calf of the God Camel, after which the others followed by stabbing the abdomen of the God Camel. The stabbing is done with a sword. Due to the number of attacks and carried out in a row, it is clear that God’s Female Camel is automatically killed.

Punishment/Reward for the Thamud

After that the pious Prophet AS found that the female camel of Allah had been killed by the opposing groups in the Thamud. Suddenly Nabi Saleh AS became very sad. Nabi Saleh AS loudly warned the opposing groups to immediately repent and await the coming of a very painful punishment for them.

However, what can be expected from this group of opponents? Obviously they rejected the warning of the pious Prophet outright and chose to ignore the warning. So underestimated, they even challenged the coming of doom. Astagfirullah. Seeing and hearing the response, Nabi Saleh AS only replied with the sentence that has been narrated in the 65th verse of the letter Hud.

The heinous act of those who killed God’s female camel very cruelly was a violation of the prohibition given by the Prophet Saleh AS. Therefore, Allah SWT sent down a punishment or reward, namely giving them a limit of life for the next three days, the words of the Prophet Saleh AS who ordered them to rejoice for three days was just a sarcasm.

The stage of the descent of Allah’s punishment for the killers of Allah’s Female Camel by changing their face color to yellow on the first day, then changing it to red on the second day, and for the last day the faces of the killers of Allah’s Female Camel are punished by changing the color of their faces to color. black.

According to a narration from Ibn Kathir, when the fourth day of punishment came after the dawn, Allah immediately brought punishment for them. Allah sent down a very terrible punishment to the Thamud who denied their deeds. Are you curious about the punishment they received? Allah brought an earthquake accompanied by a loud sound that came from the sky, the punishment was very terrible.

According to another narration, none of the female Camel killers of Allah survived the wrath of the doom, except for one of the slaves who ran for safety to an Arab village and told all the events of the doom to the people who were there.

Although he had survived and told in detail about the events of the doom, the slave did not last long and died immediately after being given a drink. God’s punishment is painful.

On the other hand, Nabi Saleh AS and his followers are of course safe and in good condition. After that, Nabi Saleh AS invited his followers to move to Ramlah, precisely in the Palestinian Territories.
